This is a very scrappy pre-Blush Response era demo that I found while trawling through old hard drives for this release. Prior to Blush Response, the majority of what I was writing quieter singer-songwriter stuff and, while this demo doesn’t resemble Blush Response to me, it does mark a point where I became more interested in noisy, fuzzy guitars and realised I could bury my vocals to make myself feel less self conscious. I think I was listening to a lot of Yo La Tengo and Rocketship, which explains the self-indulgent instrumental outro. I’m pretty sure the drums were recorded on an iPhone…
