I forgot this was a thing until I was looking through old demo ideas for the Warm split. I had finished writing Weightless and was quickly falling into another writers’ block slump, so I decided to look through old ideas for some inspiration. That’s when I found this demo – essentially a finished song, that I had completely forgotten about for the eight intervening years. I think it must have been recorded around the same time as Without a Sound and (Not In It) For Love, but I can see myself thinking it was too earnest at the time. It’s a bit of a power-ballad, if I’m honest. The new version has new lyrics for the first verse that were more relevant to what I was dealing with at the time, but the rest of the lyrics remained the same.
